This sweet Gesha presents a clean, tea-like structure with articulate flavors of lemon zest, jasmine, lavender, and orange, supported by floral apple blossom and deeper fruit notes of huckleberry and plum.

This offering comes from producer Leonardo Henao, whose background includes years coordinating smallholder programs for a Colombian exporter and academic specialization in coffee fermentation. After establishing his first farm, Los Palomos in Urrao—where he refined harvesting protocols, advanced post-harvest techniques, explored organic methods, and developed experimental fermentations—his work culminated in winning the 2020 Cup of Excellence with a Chiroso variety. Security issues in Urrao later forced the sale of that farm, but Henao continued his work at a new property in Santa Bárbara, near Medellín, which he named El Jardín (“the garden”). There he cultivates a range of varieties including Chiroso, SL-28, Colombia, and Gesha. This lot is a Gesha separation from El Jardín, grown between 1,950–2,050 meters, with cherries typically undergoing 1–2 days of whole-cherry fermentation before pulping and up to 3 additional days of tank fermentation, depending on temperature.
