Colombia
Los Alpes
lingonberry, raw sugar, apple blossom
Antioquia | Chiroso | 1850 masl | Washed
Colombia Los Alpes is a bright, juicy Chiroso that practically sparkles in the cup; sweet and crisp, with clean citrus overtones. Think cranberry and lingonberry over tart Granny Smith apple, finished with the soft raw sugar sweetness.
Colombia Los Alpes is a Chiroso selection from producer Carlos Emilio, grown in El Virgel in the Santa Bรกrbara region of Antioquia, Colombia. After nearly four decades of tending coffee, Carlos was introduced to Chirosoโa variety once believed to be a Bourbon offshoot, and more recently associated with Ethiopian lineage. Carlosโs farm, Los Alpes, has been under his careful stewardship for 39 years, perched at 1,850 meters above sea level. Across these high slopes he cultivates a focused mix of Caturra, Chiroso, and Gesha, each chosen for its character and potential. We were fortunate to secure three Chiroso lots on this latest containerโeach one a clear, aromatic snapshot of what makes this cultivar so prized: lifted florals, sparkling fragrance, and juicy, fruit-forward accents that linger long after the sip.
