Kenya Kiamugumo AA
mango, tamarind, nectarine
Kirinyago | Batian, Ruiru 11, SL28, SL34 | 1800 masl | Washed
Bursting with vivid fruit flavors, structured acidity, and layered sweetness, this AA selection from Kiamugumo exemplifies the best of Kirinyaga’s top-tier coffee. In the cup, we find vibrant notes of mango, pineapple, tamarind, and nectarine.
Nestled along the slopes of Mt. Kenya in Kirinyaga County, the Kiamugumo Factory serves as a vital hub for 1,500 smallholder farmers of the New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society. Perched at 1,800 meters, the region’s nutrient-rich red soils and high-altitude climate create ideal conditions for slow, flavor-enhancing cherry maturation. Farmers cultivate coffee on small plots, handpicking ripe cherries at peak harvest from October to December, with a secondary fly crop from April to June.
