The Nyamasheke region of western Rwanda is well known for its great coffees. Karambi washing station is located in the Karambi sector of Nyamasheke, at an altitude around 1900 meters. The staff here hand sorts all of the ripe cherry before washing and sun drying on raised beds. The cup produces an array of fruit and spice notes such as blackberry, rose hip, red apple, clove, and anise.
