Peru Rufino Mondragon

cranberry, cocoa nib, lime
Huabal, Jaén | Caturra | 1900 masl | Washed

Rufino Vargas Mondragon owns three hectares of land situated at 1900 masl in the El Condor village of the Huabal district. Rufino is one of the few producers in the area who only grows caturra, and his yellow and red strains are planted separately. He only grows a small amount of coffee, around 25 exportable bags. Additionally, he grows citrus fruits, yucca, sweet potato, carrots, and raises cattle for milk and cheese production. All of this is executed without the use of any chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. This coffee is approachable and sweet, with mixed berry notes, and subtle floral undertones.
